The Pajama Game & Off-B'way's Grey Gardens Top List of 2006 Outer Critics Noms

The Roundabout Theatre Company revival of The Pajama Game heads the list of 2006 Outer Critics Circle Award nominations, landing eight nominations including Outstanding Revival of a Musical. The off-Broadway musical Grey Gardens, currently scheduled to end its limited run at Playwrights Horizons on April 30, earned the second highest number of nominations with seven. Every production which opened or will open during the 2005-06 theater season was considered for awards with the exception of Tarzan, which will be considered next year.

The Outer Critics Circle, which honors the best of Broadway and off-Broadway with its annual awards, is an association with members affiliated with more than ninety newspapers, magazines, radio and television stations and theater publications in America and abroad. The nominating committee is comprised of Acting President Simon Saltzman, Marjorie Gunner, Mario Fratti, Patrick Hoffman, Louis A. Rachow, Glenn Loney, Aubrey Reuben, Rosalind Friedman and Thomas Gentile. This year's winners will be announced on Monday, May 15 and the award ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 25 at Sardi's.
